Dr Santosh Bugwandin is a specialist urologist based in KwaZulu-Natal, with an interest in laser surgery for prostates and kidney stones, as well as sexual medicine.
As a surgeon, he manages abnormalities and medical conditions of the urinary tract as well as sexual dysfunction in men and women.
With an interest in medicine that started as a teenager growing up in Durban, Dr Bugwandin enrolled at UKZN where he obtained his medical degree in 2004.
He holds a Fellowship from the College of Urologists of South Africa: FCUrol(SA), which he obtained in 2011, and has developed his expertise in urology through local and international courses in the years since.
He’s a national expert in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HOLEP). Dr Bugwandin underwent HoLEP and laser training in 2014 under the auspices of the UK Holumium User Group at the Cleveland Clinic associated Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in the UAE.
He also attended training in Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery with the University of Strasbourg, France.
Outside of his professional career, Dr Bugwandin is a keen trail runner who loves traversing the mountainside, and is passionate about exercise.
Dr Lucio Frittella is based in Pietermaritzburg & works across all hospitals in the city. He has vast experience in all aspects of general urology, having worked in urology since 2012, across Johannesburg & the academic unit in Pietermaritzburg. He has an interest in Kidney stones, Prostate Disease, Urinary incontinence & Sexual dysfunction. He is available for consultation in Pietermaritzburg & assists Dr Bugwandin in his practice.
Dr Santosh Bugwandin consults and operates in Pietermaritzburg twice weekly, providing a much needed HoLEP service to the Midlands community. He works closely with Dr Frittella & together they provide a valuable urological service to the community.
Dr Frittella also consults and operates at Eden Gardens Hospital Room 202, 2nd floor, 0338154600
